Veronica was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and has always had a fond attachment to reading and writing. Because of this natural attraction, she joined the English program at Wayland Baptist University, where she received her bachelor's degree (Cum Laude, thank you). She currently works on her writing full-time as a writer for Texas Wedding Guide, and freelancing for the Boerne Star and Austin County Insider.
Prior to her newfound freedom from the crippling 8-5 work schedule, she spent a year as a creative writer for a digital marketing company, and another two years writing articles for luxury real estate listings around the San Antonio area.
In addition to her writing career, Veronica worked as a social media and digital marketing manager, helping boost businesses to stronger and better platforms (though she concedes that social media is a major key in promoting any business, she carries a deep loathing for the social media world).
To keep herself integrated into the writing world, Veronica regularly attends writing workshops, critique meetups, and local writing conferences. Before writing her first novel, Veronica read On Writing, by Stephen King, which she found immensely helpful. She became a member of the San Antonio Writers’ Guild in 2019 and helped establish a local book club and writing group.
On the side, Veronica volunteers as a coach at underprivileged schools around the San Antonio area; her biggest accomplishment having helped a drill team qualify for nationals for the first time in fifty years. After reaching out to San Antonio Express-News for an interview of the team, herself, and the JROTC instructor to raise the money to attend, the article garnered over $15K in donations in a matter of three months.
Her passions for both gender and racial equality have woven themselves into the stories she writes. Fantasy may have been her first love in reading, but she strongly believes in addressing modern social and economical issues within all of her stories.
Veronica worked with two editors after the completion of her first fiction novel: Susan Maia Grossman of Book Editing Associates as her developmental editor, and Rob Bignell of Inventing Reality Editing as her copy-editor. In an effort to receive honest feedback, Veronica reached out to a group of readers that fit the target marketing age prior to submitting the novel for publication.
Happily married to her geeky, Dungeons and Dragons-loving husband, Veronica likes to spend time with her two fur babies, visiting historic towns, and antique shopping.
